ABOUT ARTIST
"Sometimes she is generous, takes her time, remains completely calm and shows me her true reality. Without understanding a word, she speaks a few familiar sentences to me and, without moving away, leaves me with her shell, woven from enchanting memories. I will never understand her, but I understand what makes her understandable. Our great nature."
Reinhard Fluri
REINHARD FLURY (born in Solothurn in 1962) grew up at the foot of the Jura mountains, where he still lives and works today. He trained as a graphic designer at the School of Art and Design in Biel. He then worked as a commercial artist and illustrator.
The artist's extraordinary talent and imagination trigger a fascination that is impossible to shake off. Fluri works with light, surreal imagination and an idealised, free nature. Both in his densely composed, hyper-realistic depictions of nature and in his surreal compositions, he creates a suspenseful new reality with meticulous attention to detail.
Nature is one of the artist's most important sources of inspiration. Fluri is captivated by the atmosphere of the soft evening light and the natural beauty of the Engadin mountains, by the depth of the cool, crystal-clear water, by the horizon and the dramatic sky behind the mountain range.
REINHARD FLURY is and remains hungry for his very own connection with nature. These moments put him in an overwhelming mood that is reflected in melancholy, wistfulness, but also in a sense of security. Like a clear, fresh mountain lake, the artist's works invite you to dive in or submerge yourself, to gather energy and strength.
