Uwe Karlsen/Borcow, who works as a sculptor, painter and photographer, often leaves individual phases of the artistic creative process to the laws of his materials.

In his sculptural work, for example, he deliberately subjects the inertia of ceramic materials to gravity or other physical influences, causing them to bend, fold and crack and, not entirely coincidentally, creating an analogy to the geological folding of mountains.
